A man in Boulder, Colorado, injured eight people demanding the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza using a homemade flamethrower and an incendiary device. The FBI labeled the incident as a “targeted terror attack” and identified the suspect as Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45. During the attack, Soliman yelled “Free Palestine” at the demonstrators. The victims, aged 52 to 88, were part of a volunteer group advocating for the hostages’ release. The violent act, which happened at the Pearl Street pedestrian mall, added to tensions from the Israel-Hamas conflict and recent antisemitic violence in the U.S. Authorities evacuated the area, and the suspect was taken into custody. The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of terrorism.
