The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) has taken over the management of 15 facilities in 11 states as part of an agreement with Rink Management Services. The portfolio expansion includes 13 ice rinks and two community centers previously operated by RMS. By integrating RMS’s expertise with SFC’s operational approach, the goal is to enhance the facilities’ management and engagement with the community.
CEO Jason Clement expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that it strengthens SFC’s position as a leader in ice rink management. Under the new arrangement, RMS will focus on a smaller portfolio of leased agreements while SFC manages the acquired facilities. Both companies plan to work together on strategic opportunities moving forward.
President Tom Hillgrove highlighted the benefits of transitioning the facilities to SFC, emphasizing the company’s successful community-focused management. With this expansion, SFC now oversees a variety of ice facilities and community centers across the country.
Kelly Kryukov, SFC’s senior vice president of ice venue operations, underscored the importance of ice rinks as community hubs and expressed the company’s commitment to enhancing programming and operational efficiency.
Overall, the agreement aims to elevate the management of the facilities and ensure they remain inclusive spaces for athletes and families. SFC now manages a total of 20 ice rinks nationwide, including multi-sport venues and facilities in New York City.
