The latest season of The Creative Boom Podcast has launched today, achieving a significant milestone of one million downloads since its debut in 2020. This season is supported by the School of Communication Arts, a unique social enterprise backed by more than 100 agencies. The school offers scholarships funded by some agencies and mentorship from others, forming a network of over 700 industry professionals guiding 36 students.
The School of Communication Arts has introduced a new online course called SCA Online Portfolio. This course aims to make creative education more inclusive and flexible, providing guidance on building an impressive portfolio led by award-winning mentors from the creative industries. Participants receive real briefs, live feedback, and community support remotely from anywhere in the world.
Season nine of the podcast features renowned creative leaders sharing their perspectives and experiences. The lineup includes Michael Johnson, founder of Johnson Banks; Christine Smith, a freelance creative director; Emma Barratt, global executive creative director for Wolff Olins; Chises Barnes, chief creative officer at Red Antler; Kenny Gravillis, founder of Gravillis Inc.; James Greenfield, CEO and co-founder of branding agency Koto; Liz Mosley, an independent brand designer; and Gnome Taylor, senior creative director at Grey London.
Additionally, the podcast introduces a revamped weekly bonus episode called The Spark, where guests answer a set of eight questions ranging from lighthearted to profound. The show aims to provide an extra dose of inspiration every Thursday.
