Tears At Shelter Puppy Returned Before First Birthday for Being ‘Too Much’

A dog adopted from a Texas shelter as a puppy was recently returned just before her first birthday. Stella’s story was shared by Longview PAWS, a non-profit supporting the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center in Gregg County, Texas. Stella, originally named Rye, was surrendered along with her littermates at a young age due to irresponsible pet ownership leading to unwanted litters. Despite being adopted quickly, Stella was returned to the shelter by her family, who found her too energetic for their household. Longview PAWS is now working to help Stella readjust and find a new loving home that can accommodate her size and energy.
