Snoop Dogg includes late Tom Petty in ‘Last Dance with Mary Jane’ music video

Snoop Dogg has unveiled a new music video for “Last Dance with Mary Jane” on Sunday. The video features Jelly Roll and the late Tom Petty and is part of Snoop Dogg’s 2024 album, Missionary. In the video, a doctor (Dr. Dre) shows Snoop Dogg the state of his lung, warning him about the dangers of smoking weed. Snoop Dogg reflects on this revelation, saying, “Guess this is my last dance with Mary Jane.” The title of the song is a nod to Petty’s 1993 track “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” with the video incorporating audio and imagery from the original song. Dr. Dre mentioned in an interview that he received files from Petty’s family, allowing him to include Petty’s voice and harmonica in the track, along with Jelly Roll contributing to the second verse.
