According to CrowdStrike’s recent survey on SMB cybersecurity, smaller businesses are facing increased threats. Phishing attacks are on the rise, and the smallest businesses are being hit the hardest by ransomware. Additionally, most SMBs are still using outdated tools, have limited budgets, and are struggling with significant gaps in implementing cybersecurity measures.
The survey revealed that cybercriminals are now targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) more frequently. These businesses were previously seen as too insignificant to attack but are now facing more advanced adversaries who are using AI and automation to target businesses of all sizes. Despite SMBs becoming more aware of cybersecurity risks, many are not adequately prepared and are stuck in a dangerous situation where they recognize the threats but struggle to respond effectively.
