Sharjah Media City Welcomes Participants of the Seventh Edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders Program

On May 13, 2025, Sharjah Media City (Shams) in Sharjah, UAE, demonstrated its role as the hub of Arab media by welcoming a fresh group of aspiring individuals shaping the future of Arab media. Organized by the Arab Youth Center, the program featured 55 young adults representing 18 Arab nations.

This initiative reflects Shams’ dedication to empowering the upcoming generation of media professionals by equipping them with the necessary skills to adapt to the fast-evolving modern media landscape, especially focusing on digital audio content like podcasts, a popular format among today’s youth.

Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, the Director General of Sharjah Media City (Shams), stressed the pivotal role of youth in driving media advancements and highlighted the significance of adapting to modern media changes. Al Obad stated, “We believe that the youth are the driving force behind any modern media revolution.” He further expressed the city’s commitment to supporting and empowering young talents by providing them with tools to create impactful, innovative, and sustainable Arabic content.

Al Obad also expressed pride in hosting this talented group of young individuals, viewing the visit as a crucial step in fostering future collaborations and knowledge sharing between Shams and prominent Arab media ventures. The participants shared their admiration for Shams’ advanced facilities and comprehensive services, recognizing the value of this experience in expanding their knowledge and enhancing their media skills effectively and practically.
