It was observed during Easter 2025 that Spain’s tourism and hospitality industry was evolving, with varying performances across different cities. The national outlook appeared positive, with increased international arrivals, tourist spending, and job creation. However, individual city results varied due to local events, infrastructure, weather, and regulations.

The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, presented the Tourism Situation Report, highlighting the growth in the tourism sector and predicting record-breaking numbers for Easter 2025. Public policies and investments were credited for this success, with expectations of exceeding €20 billion in tourist spending and welcoming 15 million international tourists.

Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, and Valencia all experienced fluctuations in hotel performance during Easter 2025. Barcelona saw peaks and declines in RevPAR, while Madrid benefited from key events like the Champions League match to boost occupancy. Seville faced challenges due to weather disruptions, but additional transport services helped drive demand.

Valencia also saw strong demand, particularly in coastal areas, with hotel occupancy rates exceeding forecasts. Last-minute bookings and good weather contributed to the surge in demand, resulting in one of the best Easter performances in recent years. Despite these positive trends, the varying patterns in different cities underscore the complexity of Spain’s tourism industry.
