Randall J. Clokey, aged 67 and from Fayetteville, GA, passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. He was deeply cherished by many and will be greatly missed. Randall will be remembered for his humor, zest for life, and his love for his family and friends. Originally born into a military family in Germany, he returned to the US as a baby and lived in various places before settling in Georgia.
Randy graduated from North Clayton High School in 1975. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1975 to 1979 aboard the USS Cone DD-866 after graduating. Following his naval service, he worked at Owens Illinois before embarking on a successful 30+ year career in heating and air, serving numerous loyal customers.
Throughout his life, Randy was a dedicated sports enthusiast, participating in football, basketball, and later enjoying golf. He was a devoted fan of Georgia Tech and the Navy. He had a passion for music, jokes, classic cars, reading, and excelled as a grill master. An animal lover, he had many cherished pets over the years and possessed handyman skills capable of building or fixing almost anything.
Randy is survived by his wife Elaine, daughter Diana, and numerous beloved family members, including his cherished pets. Those who knew and loved Randy find it difficult to envision life without him. While his absence is deeply felt, his loved ones are grateful that he is now at peace. He will forever reside in their hearts and memories.
Services to commemorate Randy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7 at the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro, located at 1842 Lake Jodeco Road, Jonesboro, GA 30236. The visitation is scheduled for 1:00 pm at the Sanctuary Entrance, followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Remembrances will take place immediately after the service in the Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Research Institute, American Cancer Society, or Promise Place.
