German and Portuguese authorities continued their search near the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal on Wednesday for Madeline McCann, the British child who has been missing since 2007. The search, which started on Tuesday, involves using ground penetrating radar to scan derelict structures close to where Madeline disappeared. The focus is on gathering evidence against Christian Bruckner, the main suspect who is currently serving a prison sentence for a separate crime. The search operation, which includes around 30 officers utilizing drones, a digger, and the radar technology, is set to conclude on Friday. Bruckner, who denies any involvement in Madeline’s disappearance, lived in one of the houses being searched at the time of her vanishing. The authorities are concentrating their efforts on 120 acres of land that encompass abandoned buildings between the Ocean Club resort, where Madeline was staying with her family, and Bruckner’s residence. Bruckner, who sometimes worked as a handyman at the Ocean Club, is expected to be released from prison in September unless new charges are brought against him.
