Authorities in Switzerland reported that the bodies of five skiers were located on a mountain close to Zermatt over the weekend. The discovery was made on the Adler Glacier by emergency responders aboard an Air Zermatt helicopter during an aerial survey near Zermatt. The search was initiated after two mountaineers spotted abandoned skis at a high altitude on Rimpfischhorn mountain. The bodies were found in different locations on the mountain, and identification of the deceased is currently in progress. A local investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
