At 90 years old, music icon Pat Boone continues to make waves in the industry, with a career spanning over seven decades filled with chart-topping hits and millions of albums sold. Recently, he made a triumphant return to the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart with a new song titled “One: Voices for Tanzania,” featuring collaborations with artists like Vince Gill, Alabama, and Lee Greenwood. The song aims to raise awareness about the critical need for clean water and essentials in Tanzania, with proceeds going directly to support the cause.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, around 300 million people lack access to clean drinking water, with nearly half of Tanzania’s population facing this challenge. The message of the song is reminiscent of the 1980s hit “We Are the World.”

While Boone dominated the Billboard charts in the 1950s and 1960s, this recent appearance on the Adult Contemporary chart marks his first since 1961, setting a new record for the longest gap between chart appearances at 63 years and eight months.
