PA Real Estate Commission dismissed from antitrust suit

W. Preston Moore, a real estate agent with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and a former president of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors (PAR), has one less defendant in his antitrust lawsuit. Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan recently dismissed the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission from the suit but allowed Moore, who is representing himself, the chance to amend his complaint by April 25. The judge ruled that Moore’s initial filing lacked sufficient details to hold the Commission accountable. Moore’s lawsuit, filed in November 2024, also targets PAR, the National Association of Realtors (NAR), and other real estate associations, alleging a conspiracy violating civil rights statutes. The court has extended the time for serving the remaining defendants by 30 days, warning that the claims may be dismissed if not served by May 12, 2025.
