CS Energy has secured a contract with the state of New York for 250MW of solar PV, among other companies. The state has awarded contracts for a total of 2.2GW of solar PV spread across 18 projects. These projects are part of the more than 2.5GW of renewable energy capacity contracted, which includes solar, wind, and hydropower projects.
These contracts were granted under the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) 2024 Tier 1 Renewable Energy Standard solicitation. The projects are anticipated to be operational by 2029, with construction activities already underway for some. NYSERDA’s President and CEO, Doreen M. Harris, expressed enthusiasm for the transition to clean energy in New York facilitated by these projects.
ConnectGen and Boralex are among the companies that have been awarded contracts for solar PV projects, with capacities ranging from 200MW to 520MW. Construction for these projects is expected to commence in 2026 and be completed by 2028.
