New hybrid inverters for residential solar in India

david.cWorld News11 hours ago8 Views

India’s POM Systems & Services has introduced new hybrid inverters with power capacities of 3 kW, 5 kW, and 10 kW for residential solar use. These inverters combine features of a traditional solar inverter and a battery inverter into a single device. The system efficiently manages power transfer between PV panels and a lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery storage system, enabling excess solar power to charge the battery and export surplus electricity to the grid. In times of low solar generation, the inverter can draw power from the grid to recharge the battery. Equipped with maximum power point trackers (MPPT), the inverters optimize solar energy output by adjusting voltage for efficient battery charging under varying conditions. The larger models support parallel operation of up to eight units to handle increased loads. With peak DC-to-AC conversion efficiencies ranging from 94% to 98%, these inverters offer various features such as automatic restart function for lithium batteries, adjustable charging voltages, and battery reverse-connection protection. Additionally, the inverters come in different sizes, with the 3 kW and 5 kW models measuring 490 mm × 312 mm × 125 mm, and the 10 kW model measuring 571 mm × 571 mm × 148 mm.
