Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers Opposes Cuts to Federal Firefighter Safety Programs

Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers, a California-based law firm specializing in personal injury cases, is against the Trump administration’s reductions in federal programs aimed at ensuring the safety of firefighters.
According to Jeffrey Nadrich, the firm’s founder, the cuts are concerning as the frequency of devastating wildfires is rising in California and other parts of the country, such as the Eaton fire.
The Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program, under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is tasked with investigating the causes of firefighter deaths and identifying ways to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The Trump administration recently informed seven out of eight program members that they will be laid off by June, affecting those responsible for wildfire containment efforts.
Nadrich expressed worries that these cuts could lead to more firefighter deaths on duty, especially with the increasing occurrence of wildfires like the Southern California wildfires in January 2025.
In addition to the layoffs, the administration has also taken steps to stop a cancer study among firefighters and disrupt a healthcare program for first responders of the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attacks.
Established in 2018, the National Firefighter Registry for Cancer aims to investigate why firefighters have higher rates of certain cancers. The Trump administration started laying off much of the registry’s staff on April 1.
Nadrich emphasized the importance of protecting firefighters and criticized the administration for reducing efforts in safeguarding these essential members of society.
There are hopes that certain aspects of the World Trade Center program may be preserved, according to statements made by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the HHS Secretary.
Nadrich Accident Injury Lawyers is a California-based personal injury law firm with a presence in 17 offices across the state. The firm specializes in cases involving exposure to dangerous substances like asbestos, silica dust, paraquat, and Roundup, boasting over 30 years of experience and having recovered over $750 million for clients.
