To accommodate her sleeping arrangements, Kai positions two small air mattresses on the passenger side, creating a makeshift bed. While it may seem uncomfortable to outsiders, Kai claims to find it cozy enough for a good night’s sleep.

Living in the Smart Fortwo means sacrificing luxuries like a kitchen or bathroom. Kai, described as an “old backpacker,” has adapted to using a tub of pine-scented cat litter for emergencies. With limited storage space in the back of the car, she keeps essential items such as kitchen utensils, a small stove, food, clothes, and car parts organized in tubs. A three-gallon water tank sits in front of the passenger seat, along with personal hygiene products.

Navigating life in such tight quarters requires physical agility, as Kai demonstrates in the video. However, the metaphorical agility needed to simplify life and reside in one of the smallest living spaces challenges even the most resourceful individuals.
