Lil Durk Files to Dismiss Superseding Indictment in Murder-For-Hire Case

Rapper Lil Durk is seeking to have the new indictment against him thrown out. He argues that prosecutors referenced lyrics from a song where he allegedly mentioned a murder, but he claims he had no involvement in the song’s content.

Lil Durk and his attorney filed a motion to dismiss the superseding indictment, which charges him with conspiracy and using interstate facilities in connection with an assassination plot.

According to Durk’s team, the song in question, “Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy,” was recorded in January 2022, months before the murder it allegedly referenced. They argue that any changes to the song after that time were not made by Durk or his associates.

Durk’s lawyers criticized the prosecutors for using the song lyrics as evidence, stating that unless they had psychic powers, they had no basis for their argument.

The indictment claims that the murder of Saviay’a Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, was linked to a previous killing. Prosecutors allege that Durk financed an attempted hit on Quando Rondo, who survived the attack.

Lil Durk is pushing to have all charges against him dropped due to his absence from the original indictment.
