Some prominent figures like Cassie Ventura, Kid Cudi, and Dawn Richards are set to appear as witnesses in the federal sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, but it is unlikely that the founder of Bad Boy will testify, as indicated by entertainment lawyer Lisa Bonner. Bonner explained that testifying could expose Combs to all past actions related to the alleged crimes, risking perjury charges.
Combs, who founded Bad Boy Entertainment, may have to address accusations such as the 2012 car bombing of rapper Kid Cudi’s vehicle with a Molotov Cocktail, as mentioned during the trial. Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified that he believed Diddy was involved in the incident.
Bonner emphasized that there would be little benefit for Combs to testify, pointing out the potential questions he might face, including his alleged involvement in the car bombing. With witnesses like Cassie Ventura and Capricorn Clark already testifying, the trial is anticipated to last eight weeks.
The trial could result in a life sentence for Combs if found guilty of charges like racketeering and sex trafficking. Despite the plea of not guilty, Bonner expressed doubt that Combs would take the stand, considering the risks involved.
