IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed the signing of two new high-end properties in Crete, enhancing its presence in the Greek market. Scheduled to open in 2025 and 2026, The Chania Hotel Crete, Vignette Collection, and Kimpton La Mer Crete are the first of their brands in Greece and are part of a strategic partnership with local owner Gelasakis Group.
Situated in the heart of Chania, The Chania Hotel Crete will become part of IHG’s Vignette Collection. The hotel will offer 39 guestrooms, a rooftop bar, a restaurant, and a wellness center with a rooftop plunge pool.

Located on the beachfront between Chania and Rethymno, Kimpton La Mer Crete will bring IHG’s boutique lifestyle brand to the area. The resort will feature 76 guestrooms, beach access to Georgioupolis, two restaurants, and a spa center with an indoor pool overlooking the sea.
These new additions will join InterContinental Cretewhich opened in 2024, solidifying Crete as a key destination for IHG’s expanding luxury and lifestyle portfolio. IHG currently operates five hotels in Greece and has more properties in the pipeline, including two Six Senses resorts, showcasing its long-term commitment to the market.
