In Chicago, Illinois, Hotel Communication Network (HCN) has completed the purchase of Crave Interactive, a company from the United Kingdom known for providing digital guest experiences for luxury hotels. This acquisition is part of HCN’s strategy to expand its presence in the high-end hotel market. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Crave Interactive, which was founded in 2009, is renowned for its in-room tablets and AI-powered guest services, which are utilized by prestigious clients such as MGM Resorts, Fairmont, and Hyatt. Their technology enables guests to easily interact with hotel services, from ordering room service to booking spa appointments.
By acquiring Crave Interactive, HCN aims to combine their technologies and expertise to enhance their digital advertising network. This move will enable hoteliers to access the guest engagement platform at reduced rates through HCN’s new ad-supported model. HCN plans to integrate digital signage and brand advertising to create additional revenue streams for hotels.
The integration of AI technology with HCN and Crave tablets is expected to revolutionize the hotel experience worldwide. Guests will interact with a multilingual AI Concierge via the tablet, serving as their personal assistant. With the support of advertising revenues, this innovative technology will be accessible to hotels globally, offering a higher level of personalization and service to guests.
Kevin Bidner, CEO of HCN, emphasized that this acquisition represents a collaboration to redefine the guest experience rather than just a combination of technologies. The merged company, operating in 25 countries with tablet and mobile applications, sees this as a step towards advancing hospitality technology.
