IHG Hotels & Resorts and Luxora Hotels are teaming up to bring back the Holiday Inn brand to Townsville, Australia. This partnership is part of IHG’s expansion plan in Queensland. The hotel, situated at the corner of Stanley Street and Flinders Street in Townsville’s CBD, will be renovated and rebranded as the Holiday Inn Townsville by early 2026. Its prime location near attractions like the Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Queensland Tropics Museum, and Townsville Yacht Club will cater to both local and international visitors.

The revamped Holiday Inn Townsville will offer 93 rooms, a modern all-day dining restaurant, and a spacious conference and event area. The hotel will also feature the ‘Open Lobby’ concept, providing a versatile space for dining, socializing, and working. This move to introduce the Holiday Inn brand in Townsville aligns with IHG’s broader strategy to expand in Queensland, a region experiencing growth and set to host Olympic events that will boost its economy and tourism sector. Townsville’s significance as a key hub for mining, energy, and defence industries also makes it an attractive business destination.

The Holiday Inn Townsville project, a collaboration with Luxora Hotels and operated by La Vie Hotels and Resorts, is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s tourism and business sectors. IHG Hotels & Resorts currently manages 76 hotels across Australasia under nine brands, with additional properties in the pipeline for future development.
