Highlights from Warriors’ victory over Rockets in Game 7

The Golden State Warriors have advanced to the next round after beating the Houston Rockets 103-89 in Game 7 on Sunday. They will now play against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals, starting with Game 1 on Tuesday. This matchup marks only the third time since 1984 that the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds will compete in a series, following the 2023 Warriors-Los Angeles Lakers and the 1987 Rockets-Seattle SuperSonics series, as per ESPN Research.

Buddy Hield led the Warriors with 33 points, contributing to Golden State having three players scoring over 20 points in a Game 7 for the first time in team history. Stephen Curry added 22 points, with 13 coming in the final quarter, while Jimmy Butler III scored 20 points. On the Rockets’ side, Amen Thompson led with 24 points.

In an intense offensive game, the Rockets shot 40.5% from the field, committing more turnovers (11) than 3-pointers made (six). Hield alone made more 3-pointers (nine) than the entire Rockets team. Golden State made 18 shots from beyond the arc, compared to Houston’s 18 attempts.
