Initially, I doubted that Wendy’s could enhance the original Frosty. I stand corrected.

During my college days, I took a single business class that emphasized the significance of innovation for achieving success. Personally, I believe in the saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The Frosty has remained a beloved item on Wendy’s menu since the ’60s, remaining unchanged and immensely popular. I have been a Frosty enthusiast since childhood, unable to resist the perfect mix of a Wendy’s Frosty and fries.

Recently, Wendy’s made a significant alteration to the classic Frosty by introducing Frosty Fusions, featuring flavor swirls and mix-ins. I was curious to see if this change was an improvement, or if Wendy’s should have stuck with the original formula.

Are the new Frostys worth trying?

There are a total of six new options, consisting of three Frosty Swirls and three Frosty Fusions. You have the choice of a chocolate or vanilla base, paired with strawberry, caramel, or brownie batter sauce for a Swirl. Fusions involve mix-ins such as strawberry sauce with Strawberry Pop-Tart pieces, brownie batter with Oreo, or crunchy toffee with caramel.

I opted for the vanilla-based Strawberry Frosty Fusion, and it was a delightful choice. As the Wendy’s staff placed the Frosty in front of me, I had a feeling it would be a fantastic experience. I sat down to conduct a thorough taste test.

First and foremost, the Frosty maintains its signature thick, smooth, and creamy consistency. The combination of vanilla and strawberry syrup reminded me of the Strawberry Frostys from my childhood. The syrup tasted more genuine than I had expected and was not overpowering. The layers blended naturally and tasted fantastic.

The highlight was the Pop-Tart mix-ins. The moment I took a bite, I was transported back to my childhood days. The contrast between the creamy Frosty and the crunchy pastry was a delightful experience. The Pop-Tarts retained their flavor and complemented the syrup perfectly.

I would rate this Frosty Fusion as highly as the Thin Mint Frosty. I only wish I had ordered a side of fries to complete the momentous occasion.

How long will the new Frostys be available at Wendy’s?

The Frosty Fusions and Frosty Swirls are now permanent items on the Wendy’s menu, making them ideal for summertime enjoyment. Innovation is indeed the key to success, as proven by Wendy’s. Just remember not to change your square burgers, Wendy’s.
