MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. (AP) — Haley Joel Osment, the actor known for his roles in films such as “The Sixth Sense” and “A.I.,” is facing charges of public intoxication and cocaine possession following his recent arrest at a ski resort in Northern California.

According to the Mono County District Attorney’s office, the 37-year-old actor was taken into custody on April 8 at Mammoth Mountain ski resort for allegedly being publicly intoxicated. The misdemeanor charges were announced on Thursday, with Osment scheduled to appear in court on July 7.

Osment, who gained fame for his performances in movies like “The Sixth Sense” and “A.I.,” has also been recognized with an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor. Apart from his film work, he has been active as a voice actor and appeared in TV series such as “The Kominsky Method” and “What We Do in the Shadows.”

Despite his professional success, Osment has faced legal troubles in the past, including a DUI and marijuana possession charge in 2006. Additionally, he was among the many individuals who lost their homes in the Eaton Fire near Los Angeles earlier this year.

As of now, no comment has been provided by Osment’s representative regarding the recent charges.
