The FIA has dismissed Red Bull’s protest against Mercedes’ George Russell following the F1 Miami Grand Prix. After the race at Hard Rock Stadium, Red Bull accused Russell of not slowing down during a yellow flag period. Despite lifting the throttle by about 25 percent, Russell’s speed increased slightly, leading to the protest being rejected.

The official letter from the Stewards explained that although Russell technically didn’t reduce his speed, his relative speed in the yellow flag zone was slower than the regular racing speed, showing compliance with the regulations. As a result, the protest was rejected, and the Protest Deposit was forfeited.
