An ex-California Highway Patrol captain has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly consuming a whole bottle of sparkling wine and behaving inappropriately on a flight from Florida to Los Angeles in April. The Department of Justice stated that Dennis Wally Woodbury, 49, from Azusa, California, faces a charge of abusive sexual contact within U.S. maritime and territorial jurisdiction. Woodbury, a former California Highway Patrol captain who was fired from state service, was a passenger on a JetBlue Airways flight from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles on April 13. During the flight, he reportedly engaged in lewd conduct with two male flight attendants. Before the flight took off, Woodbury showed explicit images to a flight attendant and later made inappropriate advances towards them. He was reported to have heavily drunk a bottle of Prosecco within a short period. Woodbury is accused of making lewd gestures and exposing himself during the flight. He was released on a $50,000 bond and is set to appear in court on May 12, facing a felony charge that could lead to a two-year prison sentence. JetBlue has not commented on the incident.
