In the last 24 hours, a series of Israeli airstrikes have targeted multiple camps for displaced Palestinians in different parts of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of numerous individuals, as reported by the territory’s civil defense agency. According to agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal, Israel’s recent attacks focused on several tents in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Bassal informed AFP news agency that a direct strike by two Israeli missiles on tents housing displaced families in al-Mawasi resulted in at least 16 casualties, mostly women and children, with 23 others wounded. The al-Mawasi region had been identified by Israel as a “humanitarian zone.” Additionally, seven individuals lost their lives in an assault on tents in Beit Lahiya in the north, while a father and child residing in a tent near al-Mawasi were killed in another strike, as per Bassal’s statements.
