An Alabama man has been arrested by the police after they located human remains believed to be of a missing woman who disappeared during the weekend. Florence police stated on Tuesday that they had found human remains thought to be those of Autumn Paige Strickland, a 38-year-old woman who was reported missing on Saturday. Florence police Capt. Jason Fort mentioned that the remains would be sent to a forensic laboratory for identification purposes, as reported by Al.com. Logan Rogers, a 28-year-old resident of Florence, was taken into custody and charged with murder. Fort stated that signs from the investigation into Strickland’s disappearance indicated that she was intentionally hit by a vehicle. On Tuesday, police apprehended Rogers at a residence on North Wood Avenue in Florence. Fort disclosed that they escalated his charge from attempted murder to murder following the discovery of the remains at the property. “His charge has been elevated to murder based on this finding,” FPD stated in a press release. Rogers is currently being held at the Lauderdale County jail without bond. Stay tuned for further updates.
