Conor Daly Shared Story of Need for Speed at Indy 500 – Ended up Sitting in Urine Throughout Race

IndyCar driver Conor Daly confessed to an unusual experience at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, admitting that he had to endure the entire race “sitting in my own pee.”

During Monday’s victory banquet, the 33-year-old racer from Indiana recounted his race day ordeal, where although he finished 8th, the standout moment was his impromptu pit stop in the car due to a rain delay that caused the race to start 45 minutes late.

Daly humorously revealed, “Never in my life have I urinated in my car until Sunday. I was sitting on the grid, and I was like, ‘This is the best car I’ve ever been in in my whole life. I’m gonna have to pee in this thing.’ I kid you not. I legitimately urinated in my racecar before the race even started.”

When questioned about the cause of his urgent need to relieve himself, Daly attributed it to a full bladder, stating, “I had to go really bad.”

Despite the embarrassing situation, Daly found humor in the incident and joked about his age compared to fellow racer Helio Castroneves, suggesting that perhaps it was a sign of either his diabetes or advancing years.

Acknowledging the challenge his mechanics faced that day, Daly expressed gratitude for their support in handling the unexpected situation during the race.
