Choice Hotels Continues to Expand Its International Footprint

Choice Hotels International, Inc. has been expanding its international presence, adding 31 hotels and over 3,300 rooms outside the United States so far this year. With an additional 11,000 rooms in the pipeline, there has been a net pipeline increase of 95 percent since the beginning of the year.

The company’s growth in the upscale and upper-upscale segment has been significant, resulting in hotel brand debuts in various new markets worldwide. Recent signings include Radisson Blu and Cambria hotels in Argentina and Canada, respectively, as well as a new agreement with SSAW Hotels & Resorts to expand in China.

Ricardo Losada Revol, senior vice president of the international division, highlighted the consistent growth achieved by Choice Hotels’ international segment and the investments made to enhance benefits for owners. The company has also been focusing on expanding its upscale footprint in the Caribbean and Latin America, with new properties opening in Mexico, Panama, and Colombia.

In Asia-Pacific, Choice Hotels continues to scale market share, with the addition of prominent brands through agreements with SSAW. The company has also renewed its partnership with Atlantica Hospitality in Brazil and is strategically adding hotels in Europe through partnerships and direct franchise agreements.

Additionally, Choice Hotels is set to introduce its first Cambria Hotel in Canada and expand the Ascend Collection’s market share in Quebec. The company’s growth trajectory indicates a push towards further international expansion and development in diverse markets.
