A woman from West Virginia was taken into custody this week following multiple distressing 911 calls made by young children. According to WCHS, Amanda Lynn Spurlock, 32, is facing two charges of child neglect with the possibility of injury.
As per court records, deputies were dispatched to the residence on Monday night in response to numerous 911 calls from the children. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two young children wearing soiled diapers in the house. A search of the premises revealed an empty pill container, marijuana, burnt foil piles indicating illegal drug use, and a white powdery substance, all within easy reach of the children.
Spurlock was found unconscious on the floor in a bedroom and showed signs of intoxication when she regained consciousness. She allegedly confessed to using fentanyl regularly over the past two weeks, even smoking the drug while the children were around.
She is currently being held on a $20,000 bond. There is no information about the well-being of the children or their connection to Spurlock. To stay updated on the latest news in crime and justice, you can subscribe to the ‘Crime Stories with Nancy Grace’ podcast.
