Britney Spears partied with Sean “Diddy” Combs before her disastrous 2007 MTV Music Video Awards performance. Photos that have resurfaced depict the “Toxic” singer alongside the Bad Boys Records founder at Jet nightclub in Las Vegas on September 7, 2007, before they moved on to 50 Cent’s party at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The festivities continued into the early hours of September 8, 2007, with uncertainty about what time Spears left.

These images of the 43-year-old pop star enjoying the night with the now 55-year-old Combs have emerged following Casandra “Cassie” Ventura mentioning Spears during Combs’ ongoing trial on sex-trafficking allegations. Ventura, the 38-year-old “Me & U” singer, testified that her connection with Combs began “sort of” in September 2007 during her 21st birthday celebration in Las Vegas.

Ventura referred to the night while testifying at Combs’ trial, recalling, “Sean was there, and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears. I think those were the two people that stand out to me,” during a court appearance on May 15.

Spears notoriously performed at the MTV VMAs on September 9, 2007, singing her hit “Gimme More.” Her comeback performance received widespread criticism for subpar choreography and lip-syncing.
