Bindi Irwin had to miss her father’s gala due to a sudden health emergency that required emergency surgery.
The 26-year-old daughter of the late Steve Irwin was supposed to be at her dad’s annual fundraiser in Las Vegas on Saturday, but her brother, Robert, revealed that she was hospitalized unexpectedly after her appendix burst.
Robert reassured everyone that Bindi will be fine after the surgery, although it was an unexpected turn of events. Their mother, Terri, was with Bindi at the hospital during the emergency surgery and also missed the event.
Despite feeling unwell, Bindi had planned to attend the gala. Robert shared that she had come to Las Vegas prepared to put on a brave face, but the surgeon advised her that her appendix needed to be removed.
The gala supports the family’s non-profit organization, Wildlife Warriors.
Bindi has been an advocate for women’s health, having publicly disclosed her endometriosis diagnosis in 2023. After undergoing surgery for the condition and sharing her story to raise awareness, she received the EndoFound Blossom Award in May 2024, making her the first international recipient.
Robert expressed confidence that Bindi will recover fully.
