Christian music is making a significant impact, as Brandon Lake and Forrest Frank have recently made it onto Billboard’s Hot 100 chart after more than a decade. This achievement highlights the resonance of faith-based songs in today’s music scene. Lake’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah” and Frank’s “Your Way’s Better” are currently ranked No. 44 and No. 62, respectively, on the Hot 100. This marks the first time in 11 years that multiple Christian songs have entered the chart outside of the holiday season or Kanye West’s gospel tracks. The last Christian artist to grace the Hot 100 was Lauren Daigle in 2019 with “You Say.” Billboard noted the resurgence of Christian music and credited Lake and Frank’s rising popularity on social media platforms like TikTok for their breakthrough success. The Hot 100’s current top spots are held by Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.” Lake and Frank, who also have numerous entries on the Hot Christian Songs chart, are among the few Christian artists to break into the mainstream Hot 100 chart dominated by pop, hip-hop, and rock genres. Additionally, Elevation Worship’s “Praise” and Frank’s “Good Day” are on the cusp of entering the Hot 100, signaling a potential further expansion of Christian music’s reach in the industry.
