At the U.N., mining groups tout protections for Indigenous peoples

The Indigenous News Alliance recently released a report about the Trump administration’s approval of a contentious copper mine project in western Arizona in the middle of April. The proposed mine, which would impact Chi’chil Biłdagoteel, also known as “Oak Flat”, has faced opposition from the San Carlos Apache Tribe and over 21 other parties.
