In 2024, Easter weekend fell in March, but this year it was in April, aligning with spring vacations and keeping leisure destinations busy.
European hoteliers experienced a 2.5% increase in RevPAR to nearly €90 (€89.3), with the budget segment showing the most growth in occupancy compared to last April. Average daily rates rose by 1% across all segments as hoteliers adjusted prices to cater to the changing preferences of corporate and leisure customers, a challenge exacerbated by a 2.4% inflation rate in April 2025 according to Eurostat.
A standout performance was seen in lesser-known European destinations in April 2025. Austria led with an 18.1% increase in RevPAR, driven by high occupancy rates and daily rates, especially in cities like Vienna attracting German visitors. Hungary followed with a 12.3% RevPAR increase, offering affordable options for customers. The Czech Republic, hosting the Ice Hockey World Championships, secured the third spot with a 4.3-point rise in occupancy rates.
