John Elway Involved in Golf Cart Accident, No Evidence of Wrongdoing Found, Sheriff Says

All witnesses to the tragic golf cart accident involving John Elway and his agent, Jeff Sperbeck, have been interviewed by authorities, with no signs of criminal activity, TMZ Sports reports.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco stated that all individuals present near where Sperbeck fell off a cart driven by Elway on April 26 have been questioned, and there is no indication of anything other than an unfortunate accident.

Bianco mentioned in a statement to TMZ Sports on Thursday that the investigation will remain open until all residents with possible video evidence of the incident have been contacted.

Elway, Sperbeck, their wives, and Elway’s son’s friend, MTV star Johnny Bananas, were touring a golf community in La Quinta, California, when Sperbeck fell off the cart, sustaining fatal injuries. The coroner determined that his death was due to accidental blunt head trauma.

Initially, law enforcement was not involved, as medical responders did not suspect foul play. However, an investigation was initiated following significant media attention.

Elway expressed devastation over Sperbeck’s passing in a statement on April 30, while Sperbeck’s family requested privacy as they mourned the loss alongside the Elways and other friends.
