Tadano is set to introduce a new series of mobile elevated work platforms with wheeled and crawler chassis in the United States and Canada. The lineup includes a model with a 2,200-pound capacity capable of accommodating up to 10 people.
The expansion of Tadano’s product range follows the company’s recent acquisitions of Nagano, a manufacturer of self-propelled crawler boom lifts previously sold in Japan and Europe, and Manitex International, a crane manufacturer. In 2018, Tadano acquired a 15% stake in Manitex by purchasing 2.9 million shares for $32.7 million.
One of the standout models in the eight-unit lineup is the AS-63HD, described by Tadano as a groundbreaking product that combines the reach of a boom lift with the vertical lifting power of a rough-terrain scissor lift. This heavy-duty unit boasts a platform height of 62 feet 8 inches and a maximum horizontal outreach of 37 feet 4 inches. It features a spacious platform with a 2,200-pound capacity, allowing contractors to transport workers and heavy materials simultaneously.
The AS-63HD is equipped with a 74.3-horsepower Kubota V3800 engine, four-wheel drive with solid tires, and offers gradeability up to 40%. It also features 360-degree continuous platform rotation and automatic 4-motion control for precise positioning. The model’s rigid mast and telescoping boom ensure minimal platform deflection without the need for outriggers or stabilizers.
Other models in Tadano’s lineup include the AS-69J with a high-reach capability and various articulated and telescopic crawler series units designed to navigate challenging terrains. The crawler models feature different platform heights, outreach capabilities, and lifting capacities to cater to various construction needs.
These new MEWPs were first showcased at Bauma 2025, and they are expected to be available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada in the latter half of 2025.
