Democratics will travel to El Salvador to push for release of illegally deported Maryland man

President Donald Trump of the United States met with Nayib Bukele, the President of El Salvador, in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, D.C. Bukele stated that he does not have the authority to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States. He emphasized that he would not resort to illegal means to do so. Democratic lawmakers are demanding that El Salvador return Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported by the Trump administration. Bukele’s refusal to comply has prompted lawmakers to consider visiting El Salvador to address the situation. Abrego Garcia, who has legal immigrant status, was deported despite not facing any criminal charges. The U.S. Supreme Court has ordered his return, but the Trump administration has yet to facilitate it. Lawmakers are urging Bukele to reconsider and acknowledge Abrego Garcia’s rights.
