Utah’s popular coffee company, Hugo Coffee, founded by women and committed to animal rescue, is excited to announce the grand opening of its latest Salt Lake City coffee shop at the iconic Salt Lake City Public Library Main Branch. The opening celebration will take place on June 7th and 8th, coinciding with the lively Utah Pride Festival at Liberty Square nearby.
Situated at the intersection of community and culture, the new Hugo Coffee spot provides a welcoming and inclusive space for library visitors, Pride attendees, and city residents to relax with a purpose. Whether you desire a handcrafted espresso, a cool cold brew, or a quick bite, this Salt Lake coffee shop promises warmth, quality, and a dedication to their mission.
Claudia McMullin, Hugo Coffee’s founder and CEO, expressed her gratitude for bringing Hugo Coffee to such an inspiring and inclusive community landmark. The company aims to not only serve coffee but also create a space where people can gather, be themselves, and support a meaningful cause.
Started by Claudia McMullin, a former Summit County Council member and lifelong animal welfare supporter, Hugo Coffee was born out of her love for great coffee and saving animals. Named after her rescue dog Hugo, the brand has gained popularity among Utah residents who want their coffee purchases to contribute to a good cause. Hugo Coffee has donated over $120,000 to more than 150 animal rescue organizations nationwide, staying true to its motto: “Drink Coffee. Save Animals.”
This latest location marks the company’s sixth, expanding its reach in the area and reinforcing its commitment to making coffee more than just a morning routine. As one of the most community-oriented coffee shops in Salt Lake, Hugo Coffee continues to create spaces that are not only delicious but also socially impactful.
The grand opening event on June 7th and 8th will feature exclusive Pride-themed Hugo Coffee stickers, available at both the Salt Lake City Public Library and the Hugo Coffee booth at the Utah Pride Festival. Festival attendees can also get a special coupon for 20% off any purchase at the new library location during the festival weekend. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy something special while celebrating inclusivity, love, and local businesses.
With its new location at the Salt Lake City Public Library, known for its stunning architecture and role as a cultural center, Hugo Coffee adds another layer of community connection. Near the Library Trax Station, the coffee shop is easily accessible for commuters, students, professionals, and Pride participants.
