Elon Musk appears to delete some explosive X posts amid feud with Trump

Elon Musk has reportedly removed some of his social media posts on X platform that fueled his ongoing dispute with President Donald Trump this week. One of the deleted posts, no longer accessible as of Saturday morning, had accused Trump of being mentioned in documents related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This accusation, which the White House has refuted, intensified the public back-and-forth between the two men.

The X page that previously showcased Musk’s post now displays a message stating, “Hmm…this page doesn’t exist. Try searching for something else.” Additionally, another post where Musk agreed with a user calling for Trump’s impeachment and Vice President JD Vance to replace him has also been removed.

During an interview with comedian Theo Von, Vance criticized Musk for targeting Trump, describing him as an “emotional guy” who made a “huge mistake.” The reason behind Musk’s deletion of the posts remains unclear, with no immediate response from the White House to CNBC’s request for comment.

This development signifies the latest turn in the deteriorating relationship between the former allies. Just a week ago, Trump and Musk exchanged compliments as Musk concluded his official term leading the Department of Government Efficiency. However, their rapport soured this week due to disagreements over Trump’s policy, leading to a series of social media exchanges. One of Musk’s deleted posts implied Trump’s involvement in Epstein-related documents, a claim refuted by the White House. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, dismissed Musk’s allegations as stemming from his dissatisfaction with certain policies in a statement to CNN.
