The search for a missing otter at a Wisconsin zoo has been called off after the animal decided to live in the wild. The New Zoo & Adventure Park in Green Bay reported that two otters, Louie and Ophelia, escaped during a snowstorm in March. Ophelia was recaptured on April 2, but Louie remains elusive. Despite not being spotted in the same area consistently, reports suggest he is healthy and surviving well. Louie, born in the wild, is believed to have the necessary skills to survive independently. The zoo is now looking for a new mate for Ophelia in collaboration with the North American River Otter Species Survival Plan.
