Senate Republicans are planning to criticize Senate Democrats for obstructing a bill that would have deported the attacker in Boulder, Colorado.
In a statement to Breitbart News, Senate Republican Conference Chairman Tom Cotton (R-AR) accused Joe Biden of allowing an illegal immigrant to remain in the country, resulting in the attack on Americans. Cotton called on Democrats to prioritize the safety of Americans over their controversial policies.
The Senate Republicans aim to showcase how Senate Democrats have consistently thwarted Republican efforts to address visa overstays and immigration enforcement. They intend to use social media to highlight these issues and the Democrats’ refusal to support measures like the Secure the Border Act proposed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Cruz expressed concern over the escalating crisis caused by illegal immigration, citing recent incidents of violence. He emphasized the urgent need for meaningful reform to secure the border and protect American citizens, accusing Democrats of prioritizing potential future voters over national security.
Additionally, Sen. Katie Britt’s (R-AL) Wall Act, which proposed imposing fines on illegal entrants or visa overstays, was blocked by Democrats in January. Britt argued that completing the border wall is essential for lawful entry into the country and would save taxpayer money by eliminating benefits for illegal immigrants.
