Ukraine peace, global security top G7 agenda as diplomats convene in Canada

In Charlevoix, Quebec, top diplomats from the Group of Seven gathered to discuss Canada’s priorities, including achieving peace in Ukraine and strengthening security partnerships as the G7 celebrates its 50th anniversary. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression and addressing maritime security challenges. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope for a ceasefire in Ukraine and urged a focus on ending the conflict. The talks also addressed China’s global role, Indo-Pacific stability, and maritime security.
