The Enhanced Games, a sports competition that permits and promotes the use of performance-enhancing drugs, is set to debut for the first time in May of the upcoming year in Las Vegas. The event aims to showcase the potential athletic abilities of top human athletes if they were allowed to utilize such substances. Marketed as an opportunity to challenge conventional views on PEDs and explore the boundaries of human physical capabilities, the Enhanced Games has been dubbed the “Olympic Games on Steroids.” Initially introduced as a concept in 2023, the event will feature eight different competitions including swimming, track, and weightlifting.

Aron D’Souza, the president and founder of Enhanced Games, expressed the mission of the event during a grand presentation in Las Vegas, emphasizing the desire to propel humanity forward by challenging outdated regulations that hinder athletic potential. While the controversial nature of the event may deter some athletes from participating in traditional international sports, financial incentives such as substantial cash prizes, appearance fees, and bonuses for record-breaking performances have attracted top talent.

Supported by investments from notable figures like Peter Thiel, Christian Angermayer, and Donald Trump Jr., Enhanced Games plans to generate revenue by selling performance enhancers directly to consumers, akin to the marketing strategy of Red Bull in extreme sports. Despite criticism from anti-doping agencies labeling the event as a spectacle that prioritizes profit over ethics, D’Souza argues that the current anti-doping regulations are antiquated, and his approach offers a more innovative solution. With nutrition and technology already influencing sports performance significantly, the inclusion of PEDs in athletic competitions could be viewed as a logical progression rather than a departure from existing practices.

In preparation for next year’s event, Enhanced Games has outlined strict guidelines regarding the use of PEDs, restricting athletes to substances that are legal in the United States and prescribed by licensed medical professionals, such as testosterone, growth hormones, and specific anabolic steroids.
