david.cWorld News9 hours ago9 Views

In China, a cabinless self-driving delivery van from ZTO Express was seen dragging an electric scooter that was blocking its path after an earlier accident in the city of Xi’an. Reports indicate that the autonomous van accidentally caught part of the scooter’s wheels while trying to maneuver around it on the road.

Equipped with advanced sensors and high-resolution video surveillance cameras, the self-driving truck is designed to automatically avoid obstacles, stop at red traffic lights, and yield to pedestrians. The vehicle, which can carry about 1,000 parcels, has a top speed of 24.9 mph and can cover approximately 180 kilometers in a single trip.

ZTO Express introduced these cabinless self-driving vans to enhance delivery efficiency in suburban and rural areas while reducing the workload of its staff. Developed by Jiushi Intelligent Technology Co., the driverless truck successfully underwent testing on challenging road sections before its launch.
