Meliá Hotels International is expanding its presence in the Mediterranean region by adding the Hotel Corte Rosada, Affiliated by Meliá, in Sardinia. This move will bolster the company’s footprint in Italy, with plans to increase its hotel count in the country to 15 by 2027.
The Spanish hotel chain is continuing its growth in key Mediterranean destinations, with the upcoming opening of the Hotel Corte Rosada in Alghero, Sardinia, set for summer 2025. This development signifies a significant achievement for the brand as it reinforces its position in the strategic Italian market.
CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, highlighted the importance of Italy as a priority market due to its tourism appeal and alignment with Meliá’s core values of hospitality, Mediterranean culture, and service excellence.
Situated in the Porto Conte Regional Nature Park, just a short distance from Alghero airport, the Hotel Corte Rosada offers direct beach access and is surrounded by lush natural landscapes, including cliffs and pine forests. The 152-room property will feature a wide range of amenities, such as a wellness center and gourmet dining options.
This expansion in Sardinia is part of Meliá’s broader strategy to double its presence in Italy, with plans to open additional properties in Venice and Milan by 2025, solidifying its position in popular tourist hubs. The company aims to grow from 8 to 15 hotels in Italy by 2027, emphasizing its commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious projects like the one in Alghero, according to Gabriel Escarrer.
