Report urges stricter mining standards to manage climate and social impacts

According to a recent study from the Mining Observatory, crucial mining states in Brazil, such as Pará, where the 2025 U.N. climate summit (COP30) will be held, face significant risks related to climate change, water scarcity, and damage to the environment. The mining activities, along with deteriorating climate conditions, are putting communities at higher risk of experiencing severe weather events.
