Pakistan has issued a warning about the growing risk of a nuclear war with India if tensions between the two countries continue to rise. The Defense Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, emphasized in an interview with Pakistani television channel Geo News on Wednesday that the threat of a nuclear war is imminent. Asif stated that Pakistan has faced similar threats in the past and the region could once again find itself on the verge of a significant conflict.
In a separate incident, traders in Pakistan protested against India by burning an effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, Pakistan reported shooting down 25 drones from India in its airspace, while India claimed to have neutralized Pakistan’s attempts to target military installations with drones and missiles.
The strained relationship between India and Pakistan dates back to their independence from Britain in 1947, marked by multiple wars and numerous clashes. Both countries possess nuclear weapons, raising concerns about the potential for a catastrophic conflict. President Trump has called for an end to the violence, expressing his desire to assist in resolving the escalating conflict.
